Move a hardware F5 appliance to F5 BIG-IP VE on VMware
The appliance stays the source of truth until the VE on VMware passes the VIP list you name. The engagement fee is ₹35,000. That number is the work, not an F5 licence and not a VMware licence.
What ₹35,000 is
One hardware BIG-IP to BIG-IP VE on VMware. F5 documents VE on VMware ESXi. We use a VE build F5 still lists for that hypervisor. We do not pick a version because it happens to be on a laptop.
Included in the engagement
- Capture from the hardware appliance and a written object list
- VE size checked against the platform guidance you accept
- Virtual servers, pools, monitors, persistence and profiles rebuilt or restored, then diffed
- Certificate inventory. You hold the private keys.
- HA only when you provide two VE guests and the network for failover
- Validation of the VIP list you name, and rollback to the appliance if that list fails
Not included
- F5 BIG-IP VE licence, support contract, or bandwidth SKU
- VMware vSphere licence, hosts, or storage
- A move onward to Azure, AWS, GCP or OCI — that is the public-cloud F5 engagement and is quoted separately
- The F5 classroom. Training stays on the syllabus.

Order of work
- WhatsApp the appliance platform, the rough VIP count, and the VMware version you run.
- We confirm the ₹35,000 fee in writing in that chat, or we say the estate is outside this fixed offer and quote it instead.
- An estate with many partitions, many route domains, or a module set this fixed fee cannot cover is quoted. We will not squeeze it into ₹35,000 and skip the diff.
- Cutover uses your window. The hardware box is not powered off until the named VIPs pass on the VE.

Is this the F5 Distributed Cloud course that is also ₹35,000?
No. The Distributed Cloud / DevCentral course is training and lives on its syllabus page. This page is a one-estate migration of a hardware load balancer onto VMware. Paying one does not enrol you in the other.
What do you need from our side?
A configuration capture from the appliance (UCS or the export we agree), a VMware cluster that can host the VE size F5 documents for your throughput, and two guests if you want HA. We do not supply the hosts, the hypervisor licence, or the BIG-IP licence.
Will every iRule and every appliance feature survive?
No. We list gaps before the window. A feature that depends on the hardware platform is rewritten or dropped in writing. A UCS that boots on VE is checked against the VIP list. If that list fails, rollback is the appliance.
